Q-vole, homies, friends, colleagues, frenemies, voyeurs, nuevo readers y mas! FYI, I have a brand new column up over at The Daily Chela for you to feast your eyes and intellect on. I was invited this year to be a contributor for DC and this is my debut column there. Please do go and check it out and subscribe to their site for mas - it’s for by Raza for Raza.
This particular column is about the lack of Chicano leadership and it explores the reasons behind it. I put quite a bit of thought and elbow grease into this article and would appreciate it if you gave it your time and also shared it on your socials. Each one teach one que no?
In other news, shout out to Oakland, Califaztlan - a signed copy of my Chicano lit anthology, ¡Ban This!, is headed there. I still have some copies left if you are interested in ordering one. Even if you have one already they make a great gift.
This book has been quite popular as teaching material in several states, which is pretty amazing for a DIY punk rock, underground, Chicano publishing company, if I do say so myself.
I am considering publishing another Chicano literature anthology sometime in the future but want to gauge interest. If you are interested in that or know someone who might be, feel free to reach out to me at mail@brokenswordpublications.com.
Nos vemos!
