So, I watched the Top Gun sequel (2022) the other day. It was not by choice. I was never a huge fan of the original as I’m inclined to think that it is military propaganda funded in part by the U.S. War Machine.
But I can’t deny that it’s iconic. The music is mostly to blame for that. Thank you, Berlin and Kenny Loggins.
Top Gun 2 (yes, I know it has a different title), is not iconic, it’s…bizarre. Was it also funded by the U.S. War Machine? Probably. Is it military propaganda posing as entertainment? Definitely. But there’s something off about the film that I can’t quite put my finger on. Beware of spoilers ahead.
